It’s your trip.

I was in Greece on a 10-day tour of Crete, Athens and Santorini and it was absolutely wonderful. It made me realize that I want to stay longer so I can really immerse myself in the culture and meet some people.

I simply fell in love with Santorini. This day when we were walking to our designated lunch spot which was a nice place across from the beach, I couldn’t help but wish we were eating at this little Thai restaurant we passed. It was right on the black sand beach with poufy loungers sunbrellas and my favorite sushi only a stone’s throw away.

I really didn’t want to make a fuss. I was trying to decide if I should go there by myself, and instead of doing what I really wanted, I sat down with our group. Stella knewthat Thai restaurant was calling to me and she gave me just the right amount of encouragment I needed to go into the restroom and change into my bikini and go to the Thai place.

I absolutely loved it! It felt great to be lounging in the sun and taking in all the aromas of my favorite Thai food and sipping on a local favorite wine. I loved lying back on the poufy lounger with a handsome waiter bringing my lunch on a tray.

Choosing to do what I wanted was a monumental moment for me. So many times I have gone with the crowd relinquishing what it is that I really want. The reality was that nobody cared if I ate with them or not. I nearly missed what was one of my highlights of my favorite trip!

When you are traveling places that you will likely see only once in your lifetime, it is especially important to make the most of it! Savor everything you can. Don’t miss a thing if you can help it.
